FITNESS OFFERINGS

Helping to Build a Healthy Community

NPA is extremely excited to offer fitness classes this summer starting Wednesday, June 17!  All classes will be free to members and $6 for non-members (punch cards will be available for a discounted rate). Classes will be taught by a trained fitness instructor and will provide options for all levels of fitness. Due to feedback from our recent survey we will be providing weekly classes at 7am M/W/F.  These classes will take place outside on the tennis courts.  Please arrive 5-10 min before start time.  Please come dressed to work out, with a yoga mat, towel, and water.  Consult your doctor before beginning any fitness program.  A fitness waiver will be required for all participants, please bring this to the first class.  If you have any questions, please contact Erin Laurell (organizer) [email protected] or Therese McAllister (instructor) [email protected].

Monday: Power Yoga: 45 min This class focuses on strength and flexibility using moves such as the warrior poses, sun salutations, etc. Expect your heart rate to rise as we move through extended strength holds and focus on core and back strength.


​Wednesday: HIIT Strength: 30 min
 This class is a half hour of interval training utilizing body weight exercises such as squats, lunges, push ups, etc. The goal is to increase heart rate and build lean muscle mass.

Friday: Yoga Flow: 45 min This class focuses on flexibility using moves to improve mobility.  Using purposeful breathing we focus on moves that will open your hips and other areas improving ease of movement through all of your activities of daily living.  A relaxation/meditation session will occur at the end of each class to help you reset your energy and improve mental clarity.
